Sister Nancy uber classic on the Stalag riddim. The Stalag riddim was originally cut in the early 70s, this is from the early 80s. One of Riley's and Jamaica's most famous riddims of all time, been sampled and relicked by everyone, named after a 50s war film 'Stalag 17‘.

Also on Stalag, same time period, another uber classic. Tenor Saw is one of my favorite of all times all genres, also #RIP, killed in ’88 at only 22 years old by a speeding car in Houston TX. Tragic loss, a true legend w/o a doubt.

Supercat! One of his early hits. Boops riddim was based on the Ethiopians ‘Train to Skaville’ and Toots and the Maytals ’54-46′ (I’ll post in another entry). Relicked a zillion times.

There was a whole scene there of session ppl that were involved in other underground funk classics by folks like The Chakachas, El Chicles, library records and others, nice thread with discog on soulstrut about it…
