Radio
$mall ¢hange started out DJing thru radio, and its still one of his favorite mediums for spinnin’. Obviously there’s a lil’ more freedom when there isn’t a dancefloor, or a need to keep people drinking (like most club gigs). So its a shame that radio these days is a joke, corrupted corporate commercialized crap, especially in the NYC area.
But there is an oasis or three out there, especially WFMU. In case you’re sleeping, WFMU is one of the nation’s preeminent freeform stations, is fully 100% listener sponsored, streams and archives all of its shows and really pushes the boundaries for what is possible over the airwaves.
While $¢ is taking a lil’ break from the airwaves, you can still enjoy close to 10 years worth of archived shows with plenty of guests throughout. Enjoy! Don’t thank $¢, donate to WFMU during their marathon. Its an amazing resource.
Check $¢’s archives and playlists.
$mall ¢hange has also held down shows on East Village Radio for 3 years, hopefully the archives will be available soon! (Don’t hold your breath, but we’ll update when they are…) He’s also guested on programs like Tim Sweeney’s Beats In Space, Giant Step’s Jukebox, WPS1′s radio station, and others…
